The next weekend in February we flew to Dallas, TX to visit Dad’s parents and I enjoyed the flights even more this time! I got to look out the window for quite awhile and when I got tired, I just took a snooze in Dad’s lap. That's what I was doing in the picture above. While in Dallas, I got to see where Grandma Dyk goes to school and also visited a neat little area of Dallas called the Bishop Arts District. There were lots of fun shops to check out and plenty of good restaurants to choose from. Dad, Mom, Grandma Dyk and I picked out a Mayan/Aztec restaurant and boy did the food look good! If y’all ever get a chance to head down that way, y’all better check out the place! Oops, guess I picked up a bit of an accent during my time in Texas. Mom packed me a lunch, so I didn’t get to try any of the food they ordered for lunch. I did, however, get to try some of Grandpa Dyk's homemade bread and bagels and it was all very yummy! I also got to ride the MAX train (as you can see in the picture below) on the way to and from the airport and that is always fun times!
The next weekend we drove to Yakima for my great grandparents’, the Northcotts, 50th wedding celebration. We had dinner with them, my Aunt Carrie, and Grandma and Grandpa Dyk at the best Mexican restaurant in Yakima, El Porton. Again, Mom brought a dinner for me, so I didn’t get to order from the kid’s menu, but I did get to taste the tortillas and they were pretty good!
Last weekend we drove up to Olympia to meet up with my Aunt Carrie (that's me with Aunt Carrie above) and her boyfriend, Mike. We went on a little hike at a local park, ate lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant, and then went to coffee at a fun little cafe. As you can imagine, Dad was sure glad we decided to stop for coffee before heading back to Portland. He loves his coffee!
Since then we’ve been relaxing at home a lot more. Mom and I still get together with Kate and her mom, Sara, a lot and we’ve gotten together with other friends too. The last picture is of me and Kate looking out her front window at all the birds outside. Our family recently went with Kate's family to a great little place that serves homemade ice cream called Ice Cream Renaissance. This next picture is of Mom and me there. What a fun place! Kate and I, of course, can't wait to go there on our own someday. ;) There is always lots to do in Portland. I am looking forward to seeing it all!
